The Horse Treks Available

Makoura Meander 　-   1 hour - $55 per person

An easy going ride　along farm tracks　bordered by native bush and through wide-open paddocks. The ride ends with a meander along coal creek　and a gentle canter up to Makoura Lodge.　

The Coal Creek ride 　- 　2 hours 　- 　$70 per person

For those who want to see a little more of the countryside, this ride takes you by some stunning bush views and past the best swimming holes in Coal　Creek.　　　　

Horsey Heaven Ride: 　- 　½ Day 　- 　$125 per person

We begin the day with a 2 hour ride (as　described above),　then back to the Lodge where a much earned lunch will be waiting. Then back on　our horses for another 1 hour ride taking in some fantastic Apiti hill country.　The views on horse back are awesome and by the end of the ride　a smile and a cowboy/girl swagger are guaranteed!　

Learn as you go: 　- 　2 hour 　($85 pp) or ½ 　day 　($140 pp)

For those who want to combine a horse riding lesson with a ride. No going around in circles at Makoura Lodge! Learn to ride in an interesting and stimulating way from an instructor with a fun and encouraging approach.　

Horsey getaway: (Price on Application)

Combine one of our horse riding options with a stay at our beautiful Lodge. Enjoy a day out riding then continue the experience with a fantastic meal and a comfy bed and a wholesome Makoura Breakfast in the morning.

Glencone Mountain Adventure: 　- 　2 Day: 　- 　$350 per person

A minimum of 6 people required

An experience not to be missed.　Two days riding through open farmland, hill country tracks and the beautiful Ruahine native bush.　Good wholesome food　delivered by 4WD along the way and　a　cold beer in your　hand at the end of the day.　　

Your destination: a real McCoy Kiwi cabin, complete with outdoor bath and views to die for.

This is the real thing, challenging, exhilarating, a true getaway from it all. 　

Optional Extra: Add a rest day at the Cone to explore the walks and beautiful surroundings and give those sore muscles a rest, for an additional $100 per person
